EDWARD McCOLLOUGH/M'Cullagh I
If you live in Quebec or the U.S. and your name is McCollor
or McCollar, chances are good you are descended from this man.
ABOUT EDWARD I Ancestry.com has new record collections from Northern Ireland,
and I'm finding info that may give us a clearer impression of who Edward was, and where he lived. The birth information that
we are pretty sure of is that he was born in County Tyrone, in or near a town named Coalisland in 1755. In 1775 in the same
village at age 20 he married a 15 year old woman whose last name was McBride but we don't yet have her first name. She was
born in 1760. I have not yet found out where he died or where he might be buried. From what I've been learning about the area, and what we have about Edward, he was probably a peasant farmer on rented
land. A Lane family tree, to which he was linked, shows another child,
born 1786 named Nancy (naturally). To my (happy) surprise I found a great deal of information on Nancy. I was totally
unaware of Nancy, I don't know how I missed her! I've started a page for her, you can find it by clicking the link on the
page entitled "Lineage Charts".

Nelson and Kathy McCollor Stigman. I thank them profusely for writing such a thorough and helpful book.
