Little David David was the eighth child of Patrick
and Bridget, and the only one to never reach adulthood. We don't know anything much at this point about David, who reportedly
died at the age of seven. He was born in 1830 or 1831, probably in Solon, Maine, but because he died in 1837 or 1838 we don't
know if he died and was buried in Madison Maine or in St. George, Canada, as it was around the same time that the family was
making one it's many moves from Canada back to Maine. One would think it would not be terribly difficult
to search cemetery records in and around both areas, and it would be great if anyone living in either of these places would
do what they can to located him. The only close family member to have died up until that point had been
Barney, who was buried in New York and so a family plot may not have been established until years after little David's death.
Thus, David could be buried alone somewhere, or may have been buried with a family close to the McCollor family.
We don't know why he died, either, and this may show up on a death certificate somewhere, if anyone should have easy
access to Madison or St. George vital records. I, for one, would like to know more about this child, and
would welcome any information anyone comes across.
* Much information for these pages comes from the excellent book McCollor/McCollough Family History and Genealogy by Clair
Nelson and Kathy McCollor Stigman. I thank them profusely for writing such a thorough and helpful book.
