Served in Nat'l Guard.   Research notes: the 1930 census lists 21 year old Jennie's marital status as "W/D", which I take to mean widowed or divorced. We don't know her marriage year, but we know Jay didn't pass until 1970. Either there was a husband prior to Jay, the census is wrong (not unheard of!), or they had married and divorced by 1930.
